What is wrong with hunting wolves from airplanes?

I don't see anything wrong with this, unless we are talking about an endangered species. How's this more appalling than raising cows and chickens only to be slaughtered? What is wrong with hunting wolves from airplanes?
Nothing. It is just fodder for the Democratic sheep to chew on. Something for them to feel properly offended about for the next 5 minutes, until the next thing to feel properly offended over comes up.What is wrong with hunting wolves from airplanes?
The problem is that wolves are practically an endangered species. They still have quite a few in Alaska, but humans have driven them out of most of their home range. And unlike cows and chickens, people don't eat wolf meat, unless they are desperately hungry. Another problem is that the program supporting the aerial hunting of wolves and supported by Governor Palin is reckless. Calling for the slaughter of 80% of the populations of wolves and bears is far too much.
If you don't see what's wrong with running animals down until they drop from exhaustion, and then slaughtering them after they drop from exhaustion, then you're right - nobody can help you to understand it. It isn't ';hunting'; it doesn't resemble ';hunting'; and the only word to accurately describe it is BARBARIC.

People who are knowledgeable on the subject understand that a healthy wolf population is absolutely vital to a healthy ecosystem - they are PREDATORS and they serve an absolute function.

For your own information, though - people who live off the land, the natives, the actual Alaskans - are APPALLED at this practice and actually worked long and hard to get legislation which OUTLAWED IT.

But the unethical Sarah Palin used $400,000 TAXPAYER DOLLARS to fight that legislation, and to have it repealed.

Did you get that?

She actually FOUGHT against legislation which the CITIZENS had worked their tails off to get passed.

Praise God in Heaven this past Presidential campaign exposed her for what she is - at least her political career is over.
If the government has decided to cut down wolf populations, then the options are few. You can either shoot them from helicopters, or tranquilize them from helicopters and THEN shoot them, or you can raid the cub dens and club the cubs to death. The actual method is not important, although it can make for a more sensationalized news story.

Why are people debating the method of killing, when they should debate whether or not to kill them at all?
It endangers the ';ecosystem'; of the wildlife that are threatened by wolves, like Caribou and Moose, if not done.

People fought for years and years to repopulate the wolf population in the lower 48 and now ranchers have to shoot them down here, too.

But Ashley Judd,of course is the expert on this one, lol.
for those of you who say it is an unfair advantage, you oughta try hitting ANYTHING from an airplane that is also moving, and do it with a rifle...not an easy task in the least. neither is a rotor wing aircraft with it's vibrations. although it does hover
Got to be a major expense, considering the fuel a plane consumes. As for those who claim it's cheating, or unfair, or too easy, it's obvious they've never tried to hit a moving target from an aircraft, which is also moving, and has to be going at least 70 mph just to get airborne.
As a hunter, I personally don't like it. I've never been to Alaska, so I have no idea what its like to cover that kind of terrain.

In my simple view it doesn't seem like much of a challenge, and doesn't seem to be very sporting.
Nothing hunting about it, might as well just put them in a pen and shoot them. If you want to hunt wolves, fine, do it on the ground.

Strange twist if the plane crashes and the wolves start hunting you.
I think we should shoot Liberals from helicopters
I guess if your are old, fat, and lazy then hunting from an airplane is a good way to go out and kill something...if you feel the urge to do that sort of thing.
Unfair advantage. Even having a gun is an unfair advantage, but hunting from an airplane is just way over the top.
Wolves are critical to habitats and actually improve the health of the herds of their prey. Further, they reduce rodents and others animals that can become over populated.

Tuff girl - ecosystems function perfectly until humans intervene. You folks are oblivious to science and reason.
it wasn't wolves it were mosses and it wasn't a plane but a helicopter.

nothing wrong as long as you dont call yourself a hunter.
not long ago wolves were on the endangered species list, should we put them back on it for the sake of a few sheep and cows?
it is pointless and destroys an ecosystem.
That isn't hunting. Any more than shooting fish in a barrel is fishing.
I'm apathetic to it.
Do we need to hunt wolves -
I don't get it either.

I don't like Sarah Palin but I think she was right this time.
They are well known for eating little pigs and girls with red hoods. We need any type of edge we can get when hunting them.
Its not wrong. No more than hunting deer or elk using deer stands.
If you don't see anything wrong with it, why are you questioning it?
I dont see anything wrong in it
Not a thing.
