From there it escalates quite quickly. If you want to hunt zebra, cape buffalo, lion, leopard, anything like that you are looking at over $1000 just in license and trophy fees. A cape buffalo hunt you are looking at $10,000+. Anything bigger than that is going to start even higher. Shop around, you may be able to find a deal. I was just recently at an American Whitetail banquet and they could not sell an 8 day hunting trip to Africa. There was an auction, and they couldn't even get the minimum bid of $300 because the trophy fees and airfare were outrageous. If I would have purchased that hunt, taken five big animals, airfare, I would have easily been in about $15,000. I would take a whitetail in Illinois anyday...
